Project focus

MAP-CS explores how computer science can be designed and sustained as a mission-aligned program within liberal arts institutions, with attention to curriculum, pathways, and institutional change.

Structured curriculum review process

The MAP-CS project has developed a literature-informed backward design process to help departments build distinctive, mission-aligned curricula. This process is supported by a step-by-step workbook, a spreadsheet tool for curriculum mapping, and related resources.

On-site working groups

Facilitators from the MAP-CS group can travel to campus to work individually with faculty in a department. These sessions guide teams through the design process and support departmental decision making.

Virtual cohort working groups

Departments can also participate virtually as part of a cohort of schools. Facilitators lead regular online sessions and remain available for individual meetings with participating institutions.
